SVXR, Inc. announces sale of X200tm inline IC packaging inspection and metrology system to SHIIMA Electronics Inc. and entry into exclusive representative agreement with SHIIMA Electronic Inc. for the Japan region.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- SVXR, Inc. announced today the sale of the revolutionary X200 system to SHIIMA Electronics Inc. of Japan.  The X200 combines unique high speed and high sensitivity X-ray imaging hardware with advanced machine learning algorithms to automatically identify packaging defects.

Until now, defects such as fine pitch flip chip non-wets and aluminum wire bond damage could only be identified through lengthy failure analysis processes.  The X200 detects these abnormalities automatically and at high speed.

Dr. David Adler, Chairman and CEO of SVXR said, "The X200 is the culmination of nearly a decade of work to bring wafer fab-like defect detection and metrology into the backend manufacturing process.  The system was developed from the ground up to rapidly scan IC packages on the production floor, automatically detect defects and capture critical process metrology information in real time."

"We are excited to be working with SHIIMA Electronics Corporation to bring this capability to the Japanese semiconductor market where customers demand the highest levels of product quality and manufacturing yield."

Mr. Tomonori Ojima, President of SHIIMA Electronics Corporation said, "The X200 has significant value not found on microfocus X-ray systems available in the market.  System level incoming quality requirements are becoming increasingly more stringent particularly in mobile phone and automotive applications.  We believe the X200 gives SHIIMA our customers a competitive advantage by enabling them to monitor their process and identify difficult to detect defects in real time on the production floor."
