Dentists Benefits Insurance Company and Northwest Dentists Insurance Company Plan to Merge with Parent Company, The Dentists Insurance Company

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Dentists Benefits Insurance Company (DBIC) and Northwest Dentists Insurance Company (NORDIC), acquired by The Dentists Insurance Company (TDIC) in February of 2017, plan to merge with their parent company, TDIC, effective Jan. 1, 2019, upon regulatory approval.

As a result of the merger, DBIC and NORDIC will be combined into TDIC and the companies will unite as one operating as The Dentists Insurance Company. The name and logo will change, and immediately following the merger, policyholders can expect a smooth transition with no disruption to the service they have come to trust and rely upon.

"Like DBIC and NORDIC, TDIC has a strong history of protecting dentists and their practices," said TDIC Board Chair Daniel Davidson, DMD. "With nearly 40 years of providing high-quality products and services to our customers, we are thrilled to continue this legacy as we join the companies under the TDIC brand and our shared dentist-centric vision."

TDIC focuses exclusively on supporting the dental profession by offering a comprehensive suite of professional and business liability, commercial property, workers' compensation, employment practices liability and cyber liability products to more than 19,000 dentists in 10 states. With this merger, TDIC now extends its exceptional legacy, brand values, financial strength and stability to over 5,000 additional policyholders in five states.

In addition to providing DBIC and NORDIC policyholders with the service and support they have come to expect, TDIC has been rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best for 24 consecutive years. "Merging with TDIC continues our well-established financial strength and will give policyholders peace of mind, knowing the companies have a shared promise and single vision to only protect dentists," said Washington dentist and TDIC Director Princy Rekhi, DDS.
