Monterey Bay Aquarium and California Fish Grill Announce New Partnership to Serve Ocean-Friendly Seafood at all 22 Locations

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- California Fish Grill announces today a partnership with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program, formalizing their commitment to serve sustainably caught or raised seafood in all of their locations.

As a Seafood Watch Business Partner, California Fish Grill is proud to already be 100% compliant in serving seafood rated as Best Choice, Good Alternative, or eco-certified by an organization Seafood Watch defers to. Through this partnership, California Fish Grill and the Seafood Watch program are dedicated to bringing awareness to growing public concerns of the impact seafood production has on our environment and ocean health.

"As we celebrate our 20-year anniversary, joining the Monterey Bay Aquarium is a natural partnership for California Fish Grill. The Seafood Watch Program is the gold standard for sustainability and healthy ocean stewardship ? this is a movement we're proud to be a part of," said Bob Holden, California Fish Grill CEO.

Seafood Watch empowers consumers and businesses to make choices for a healthy ocean. Using science-based, peer-reviewed methods, Seafood Watch assesses how wild-caught and farmed seafood affect the environment, and provides recommendations indicating which items to consume, and which items to avoid. Seafood Watch science is referenced by more than 1,000 businesses, at 150,000 locations worldwide, to help inform purchasing decisions.

This partnership with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Program ensures California Fish Grill can continue to "Liberate the Love of Seafood" for generations to come.
