Walker Training and Consulting Introduces magic@work, a Career Coaching Program Designed to Empower Women of Color

SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The workplace is especially challenging for women of color. This is according to the Women in the Workplace research study conducted through a long-term partnership between LeanIn.org and Mckinsey & Company.

"Women of color face more obstacles and a steeper path to leadership, from receiving less support from managers to getting promoted more slowly. This affects how they view the workplace and their opportunities for advancement. Overall two patterns are clear; compared to white women, things are worse for women of color, and they are particularly difficult for Black women."

There is a plethora of research that makes the business case for the advancement of women of color. The magic@work program positions women of color to succeed in their careers, despite obstacles. This creates a win for women of color and organizations committed to the advancement of women of color.

Ethel Walker, owner of Walker Training and Consulting and Certified Professional Career Coach, says "as minority women, we bring skills, talent and a unique perspective to the table. We often need tools and support to help us navigate career challenges and capitalize on opportunities. We need trusted advocates to offer support and guidance. This was my main driver to developing this targeted career coaching program. I want to help women of color change the way they view the workplace and their opportunities for advancement. I want to empower women of color to leverage their strengths and take control of their career."

The magic@work program is a 6-month career coaching and advocacy program. The cost is $1,000 per participant if paid in advance. A monthly payment option is also available. Additional discounts are available for organizations that enroll multiple participants.
