Children's Hope India's 26th Annual Gala: Unlocking The Potential Of India's Children At The Secret Garden

LONG ISLAND, N.Y., Sept. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Children's Hope India will hold its 26th Annual Gala on October 7, 2018, at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers, in New York City, where the organization will raise money to further its prime mission ? the education of underserved children.  This year's theme, "Unlocking the Potential of India's Children at the Secret Garden," will focus on the goals to Educate, Empower, and Enrich.

The event will bring together CHI's many supporters for a real live celebration of bettering children's lives. What started as a small group of women professionals trying to make a difference with one orphanage in Mumbai today covers 20 projects across India and has taken on four schools, namely CHI's own Children's Hope India Girls School in Bhopal, a school in Jammu and two Ekalavya Schools in Hyderabad, emphasizing CHI's cradle to career holistic philosophy for the welfare of children. The organization supports children at all stages of their development, from creches to balwadis to primary schools to scholarship programs for secondary schools to job skills training programs, and serves the "whole child"?nourishing children's bodies, minds and the communities in which they live.

Over 500 guests are expected from the Tri-State area to congratulate and celebrate our Lotus Award honoree Anand Khubani, our Making a Difference honoree Ravi Kanth Ganti and our Special Impact award recipient Dr. Manjit Bains.  The Master of Ceremonies of this evening is Tinku Jain, noted broadcaster and philanthropist.

Anand Khubani is Chairman and CEO of IdeaVillage Products Corp. and the master marketer behind today's top-selling TV products. Khubani is responsible for the company's product development, corporate strategy and marketing. His relentless search of voids in the marketplace is his primary business strategy, enabling him to deliver valuable solutions to consumers.  Anand and his entire family are committed to bringing education and new opportunities to underprivileged children, and his work with CHI has raised awareness and much-needed funds for communities in need.

Anand Khubani, New Jersey business man and philanthropist, named the 2018 Children's Hope India Lotus Award Honoree

Ravi Kanth Ganti is Chief Operating Officer of Ekalavya Schools, one of Children's Hope India's cornerstone projects. Working under CHI partner Kasturi Trust, Ravi has lead the operations team managing five Ekalavya Schools, low-cost schools exclusively run for underprivileged children in urban slums?four in Hyderabad and one in Bangalore.  He is responsible for bringing key initiatives to the schools, such as a mid-day meal program, health camps, and scholarships.

A $200 donation to Children's Hope India provides one child with education and medical attention for a year.

Dr. Manjit Singh Bains is an Attending Surgeon in the Thoracic Service, Department of Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and a Professor of Surgery at Cornell University Medical College. He has received numerous awards for his professional and humanitarian work.

Entertainment for the evening includes a special performance by America's oldest collegiate a cappella group, the Yale Whiffenpoofs, and Irene Fong, the number one New York City electric violinist. Guests are in for a gourmet adventure with celebrity chef Gaurav Anand, the man behind New York's Moti Mahal, Bhatti Grill, Awadh and Aroqa. Chef Anand will showcase a dining experience that will entice and engage guests, as they enjoy cuisine that is inspired by the interplay of flavors, ingredients and cultures, followed by a creative sit-down dinner and a dessert bar full of unusual delicious surprises!.

A highlight of the evening will be the live auction of life-changing ventures where guests get to bid on educational, medical and nutrition-focused projects for the schools CHI supports, including a new Ekalavya School in Bangalore. By live bidding any amount, they can make the dreams of the children attending this school a reality. For only $200 a year (covering tuition, school supplies, a mid-day meal and other educational expenses), a supporter can change the life of a young boy or girl from the slums of India, and, in enriching that child's life, transform an entire community. This exciting auction will be conducted by Sandhya Jain-Patel, formerly Head of the Indian Department at Christie's New York.

Tickets to the Gala are $500 pp - for details call 516-581-6542 or 908-403-6942 or visit https://www.childrenshopeindia.org/events/annual-gala-celebration/
