Clinically-validated Tru-D SmartUVC to Exhibit at 2018 AHE Exchange

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Tru-D SmartUVC, a leader in the UVC disinfection space, will attend and exhibit at the 2018 AHE Exchange, September 23-26 in Columbus, Ohio. Tru-D invites attendees to its booth #623 to learn how the UVC disinfection robot can help prevent infections, not only from patient to patient, but throughout an entire health care facility.

The Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE) of the American Hospital Association is the professional organization of choice for experts responsible for caring for the patient and resident care environment across all care settings; including hospitals, long-term care, continuing care retirement communities and ambulatory care. AHE represents, defines and advances more than 2,100 professionals working to ensure quality outcomes and healthy communities. The 2018 AHE Exchange will host more than 500 environmental services professionals, infection preventionists, content experts, academics, regulatory agencies and industry leaders during the four-day conference.

"Tru-D is the only device backed by a CDC-funded randomized clinical trial to show that it is capable of reducing infections hospital-wide," said Chuck Dunn, CEO and President of Tru-D SmartUVC. "Using patented technology, Tru-D ensures significant pathogen reduction from one placement in the room, eliminating the threat of human error in the disinfection process."

Tru-D is brought into a room after the environmental services staff cleans using traditional methods. Operating from one placement and administering a single cycle of UVC light, Tru-D then destroys harmful pathogens that can remain behind such as C. diff, MRSA, MERS, VRE, Ebola and many more. During the disinfection process, operators are free to complete other tasks such as cleaning rooms, changing linens or other duties before being notified via audio and/or text message that the room has been thoroughly disinfected.

"Tru-D implements seamlessly into any hospital's workflow and does not require additional full-time employees for operation," said Dunn. "Tru-D allows operators to 'work smarter, not harder,' in order to provide a cleaner, safer environment for patients and staff."

Tru-D was the only device of its kind selected for the first-ever, randomized, clinical trial on UVC disinfection because of its Sensor360 technology that precisely measures the proper, lethal UVC dose. Results of the landmark Benefits of Enhanced Terminal Room-Disinfection (BETR-D) study proved that enhanced terminal room disinfection strategies using Tru-D decreased risk of acquisition and infection of four major superbugs not only from patient to patient, but throughout an entire facility, hospital-wide.

Tru-D invites attendees to its booth #623 to learn more about the gold standard in UVC disinfection. For more information, visit Tru-D.com.
