Burns & McDonnell Is No. 3 MEP Giants Firm

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Burns & McDonnell has again placed among the top three largest firms on Consulting-Specifying Engineer (CSE) magazine's 2018 MEP Giants ranking of the nation's top 100 MEP firms. Burns & McDonnell ranked third in this year's ranking with $290.2 million in revenue from engineering projects in which the firm provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing or fire protection (MEP) services.

The 2018 MEP Giants ranking reflected the sixth consecutive year in which Burns & McDonnell has reported an increase in MEP project revenue. The growth was the result of continued demand for engineering, commissioning, and commercial construction services for large, complex manufacturing, military, aviation, aerospace, higher education, civilian government, healthcare and commercial office facilities.

Burns & McDonnell's 2018 MEP revenue total compares with $250.9 million reported in 2017, when it also ranked as the No. 3 MEP firm. MEP revenue was approximately 11 percent of Burns & McDonnell's $2.8 billion in total revenue for 2017, the reporting period for the survey.

"When it comes to designing and building facilities today, MEP engineering is at the heart of everything we do," says David Yeamans, president of the Aviation & Federal Division of Burns & McDonnell. "It's no coincidence that some of the largest and most successful firms in our industry specialize in MEP engineering. We're very pleased to once again place so highly in the MEP Giants ranking."
