New supportive housing facility officially opens in St. John's


ST. JOHN'S, Sept. 14, 2018 /CNW/ - The governments of Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador and the John Howard Society of Newfoundland celebrated the grand opening of Garrison Place. The new 10-unit facility provides supported housing for vulnerable individuals experiencing, or most at risk of homelessness.

Mr. Nick Whalen, Member of Parliament for St. John's East, on behalf of the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Minister Responsible for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), along with the Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister responsible for the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation, attended the official opening today.
