Collins Barrow Vancouver, Wolrige Mahon and CW Group join forces, become one of Collins Barrow National's largest audit, tax and consulting firms

TORONTO, Sept. 13, 2018 /CNW/ - Collins Barrow National is pleased to announce its latest Western expansion, with the merger of Collins Barrow Vancouver, Wolrige Mahon and CW Group. Together, they are forming a single, powerhouse audit, tax and specialty services firm. With offices situated in Vancouver and Toronto, the new firm, Wolrige Mahon Collins Barrow (WMCB), will further enhance Collins Barrow's long-standing coast-to-coast presence. WMCB will serve as a key pillar in the Western-Canadian mid-market, becoming one of British Columbia's largest independently owned and operated firms.

Recruitment Lead, Ken Tammadge, Chair, Grant Galbraith and WMCB Managing Partner, Paul Websdale (CNW Group/Collins Barrow National Cooperative Incorporated)

The strong legacy of all three independent firms ? who jointly provide a full range of financial advisory services ? endures in this new evolution. By combining their resources and expertise to offer even more comprehensive audit, accounting and advisory services, their 20 partners and 160 professionals are well positioned to adapt to the ever-changing financial climate and, most importantly, enhance client value.

Collins Barrow's all-Canadian network is the country's largest association of chartered accounting firms and the true national mid-market alternative. Member firms, in both primary and secondary markets, are uniquely empowered to be 'challenger' brands, as part of a well-established national cooperative. They can draw on the expertise of more than 2,000 professionals across the country ? while still maintaining autonomous ownership and management.

Unlike fully integrated, global accounting firms, Collins Barrow's independent firms are fiercly entrepreneurial in mindset and led by partners and experts who are business owners themselves. Their motivation and dedication to client success is unparalleled, whether acting on behalf of emerging companies, public entities or not-for-profits. Clients are the true beneficiaries of the model, receiving local market attention, with national support and substance via value-added specialty services. The network also boasts an Alliance program for like-minded firms who seek association to achieve, but not full affiliation with Collins Barrow.

Furthermore, as the sole Canadian representatives in the Baker Tilly International network, clients benefit from global reach and perspective with access to 33,600 professionals in 147 countries worldwide. Baker Tilly International is one of the world's leading networks of independently owned and managed accountancy and business advisory firms.

"These mergers were specifically initiated to build and deliver even greater value to our clients," said Paul Websdale, managing partner of the new Wolrige Mahon Collins Barrow in Vancouver. "Collins Barrow allows us to continue to provide transformational advice and attention to clients, via our entrepreneurally minded and ethically motivated expert advisors, accompanied by the support of national resources, a trusted brand and international platform. As well, we will continue to attract the best talent in the industry, simultaneously providing authentic company culture and game-changing career opportunities."

"The addition of WMCB to our network is a significant milestone in our efforts to strategically expand Collins Barrow in key geographies across Canada," said Ken Tammadge, who leads firm recruitment initiatives at Collins Barrow National. "Our newest firm's dedication to transnational collaboration and the ensuing elevation of client access is in keeping with our shared brand philosophy of acting as the true mid-market service providers coast-to-coast."

"Wolrige Mahon Collins Barrow is a fantastic addition to the Collins Barrow network and represents the latest evolution of our network as we continue to reinvent and adapt for tomorrow," said Grant Galbraith, chair of Collins Barrow National.

As always, while celebrating its newest member, Collins Barrow continues to actively seek firms across Canada who are ready to 'punch above their weight class,' join an established brand and access unique advisory offerings.
