Extension of Submission Deadline of the PenCraft Award Literary Competition 2018


HOUSTON, Sept. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The PenCraft Award competition committee has announced that it has extended the submission date for book entries to September 30, 2018. " We are sincerely grateful to all the participants of the 2018 PenCraft Award competition. Due to the continuously increasing competition submissions and numerous requests for a deadline extension, we are pleased to announce that the deadline for submission of book entries is now officially extended to midnight September 30th, 2018," quoted Mark Wulf, an official of the competition and a voting member of the National Book Critics Circle. He also added, "Due to issues experienced in March 2018 with our online entry system for competition submissions of various books, we felt the extension of the submission deadline was in order."

The second annual PenCraft Award competition is opened to all books written in the English Language with an ISBN and published between 2015 and October 1, 2018. All books reviewed by the staff at AuthorsReading.com during the stated period will also be considered for a 2018 PenCraft Award.

Top Prize for the2018 PenCraft Award competition is $500.

Winners in all categories are honored with widespread recognition. All PenCraft Award winners are presented with a personalized award certificate, a digital high-resolution version of the PenCraft Award seal and a set of gold seals that can be placed prominently on the cover of their winning book.

All books entered are judged on content, general excellence in writing and originality. Books from all publishers, including self-publishers, are accepted. The PenCraft Awards competition is an equal opportunity contest giving no merit to one type of publisher over another.

Submitted works will be judged by a panel of authors, librarians, and other literature lovers. The criteria that they use:
1.    Literary/Artistic Merit (50%): The quality of writing receives primary consideration in the PenCraft Award judging. In addition, the book's editing, illustrations, and attention to detail involved in its creation is an important element in certain categories.
2.    Originality (30%): Originality in concept and execution is a primary consideration in selecting finalists. Finalist titles should demonstrate innovative artistic qualities, which in many cases will be specific to their genre or category.
3.    Audience Appeal (20%): A PenCraft Award-winning book should have strong appeal to its target audience. Books are judged on their effectiveness in engaging their particular readership.
The Annual "PenCraft" Award winners will be announced in October of 2018 to coincide with the beginning of the Holiday season.
