Congratulations to Award and Scholarship Winners Ahead of ICMCP National Conference


ATLANTA, Sept. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP) Third Annual National Conference, "The Diversity Game: Changing the Cybersecurity Workforce Landscape" has announced several scholarship winners along with the winners of the prestigious CyberSecurity Minority Awards.  Both groups of awardees will be recognized at the national conference September 18-19, 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Westin Buckhead Atlanta.

This is the second annual, and first of its kind, Cybersecurity Minority of the Year Awards.  "The group of nominees this year was exceptional. Their noteworthy contributions and commitment to closing the digital divide in alignment with ICMCP's organizational mission distinguished them as the best of the best," said Joe Morgan, Chairperson, Scholarship and Awards Committee.  The winners in each category are as follows:

On behalf of ICMCP's President, Executive Director and Executive Leadership Team, ICMCP has also announced the 2018 ICMCP Scholarship Award Recipients.  "This year has been an exciting scholarship fundraising season for ICMCP as we enjoy the continued support of ongoing scholarship sponsors as-well-as introduce new corporate scholarship sponsors," stated David Elcock, Executive Director of ICMCP.  "This year we welcome United Airlines, The Nelson H. Waits, Sr. Education Fund and The Arellanes Family Fund Scholarship to the ranks of our existing sponsors Lynx Technology Partners, Inc., TEN, Inc and Conventus Corporation.  We wish to publicly recognize and show our appreciation for their financial support."

Mr. Elcock continued, "These candidate applications were especially noteworthy and each was selected based on their application, resume, academic performance and essay. The selection committee selected their applications to advance ICMCP's goal to increase the number of highly qualified minority and women students pursuing cybersecurity career fields and academic disciplines."  The scholarships and recipients include:
