American Humane Rescue Team Rushing to Evacuate Animals Caught in Path of Hurricane Florence


WASHINGTON, Sept. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- As Hurricane Florence barrels toward the United States, bringing with it torrential rains, dangerous winds, and potential flooding, the famed American Humane Rescue team, which has been saving animals in disasters for more than 100 years, is rushing to evacuate shelter pets directly in the path of the deadly storm. American Humane Rescue team members are already beginning their work, preparing to remove and transport animals from coastal South Carolina shelters and taking them to safe haven inland.

The American Humane Rescue team has deployed and is working to evacuate shelter pets in the path of Hurricane Florence.

With millions in the storm path, American Humane President and CEO Dr. Robin Ganzert, who had to evacuate with her own dog Daisy from her South Carolina home, is working to prepare the public to keep themselves and their pets safe.
