IRVING, Texas, Aug. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On Thursday, September 6th beginning at 10:30 a.m., the Women's Business Council ? Southwest (WBCS) will hold its Business Works Expo at the Arlington Convention Center. The half-day event features one-on-one matchmaker meetings, Women Business Enterprise (WBE) Speed Connect, a keynote luncheon, trade expo, and networking reception.
New this year is the WBE Speed Connect, consisting of minute-long roundtable introductions exclusively for women-owned businesses. The goal is for WBEs to quickly introduce their business services in order to exchange referrals and better utilize the WBE network.
"Business is all about relationships," said Debbie Hurst, president of WBCS. "The Women's Business Council ? Southwest provides opportunities for women business owners to network, not only with corporations and government entities, but also with fellow female leaders. Between matchmakers, WBE Speed Connect and the expo, this is the ideal half-day to step away from the desk and build relationships within the supplier diversity community."
This year's keynote speaker is Thear Suzuki, Americas Advisory Talent Leader at Ernst & Young LLP. Thear is responsible for innovating and leading comprehensive programs designed to attract, retain, grow, and develop over 17,000 consulting professionals across the Americas. Her keynote presentation will focus on how to build an inclusive culture, ways women are changing the face of business, and keys to lead through an era of rapid transformation.
Major sponsors of the event include Toyota, Texas Instruments, Lockheed Martin, Shell, DFW International Airport, and ExxonMobil.
