New fire hall completed in Frog Lake First Nation in Treaty 6 Territory


FROG LAKE FIRST NATION, TREATY 6 TERRITORY, AB, Aug. 24, 2018 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada is investing in infrastructure projects that support the priorities, needs, and health and safety of First Nation communities.

Today, the Honourable Jane Philpott, Minister of Indigenous Services Canada, offered her congratulations to Frog Lake First Nation on the grand opening of its new fire hall.

With an increased capacity of nearly 7,000 square feet, the fire hall will support fire protection services and storage of equipment. The Frog Lake First Nation Fire Department will now have the ability to provide shorter emergency response times to members and surrounding communities. Indigenous Services Canada invested $2.3 million in the project.
