Press Conference to be Held on "Pakistan, Democracy and Minorities"

WASHINGTON, Aug. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Christian Voice of Pakistan is hosting a press conference at the National Press Club, 13th Floor, 529 14th Street NW, Washington, DC 20045, on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 6:00 pm. Speakers include Salma Shahbaz Bhatti, M.Ed, M.A, wife of the late Minority Minister of Pakistan who was gunned down by Taliban in Islamabad; and Victor Gill, M.Sc, M.Div, an advocate for the underrepresented and downtrodden Pakistani Christian community.

The title of this forum is "Pakistan, Democracy and Minorities" with the intent of answering specific questions including: Is Pakistan heading towards the dream of its founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah or is it heading towards a theocratic state under new Prime Minister Imran Khan? PM Imran Khan has repeatedly referred to making Pakistan a Medina-style welfare state while also praising Jinnah as his leader. This conference is a rejoinder to Imran Khan's inaugural speech from the minority point of view.

The event is open to media, think tanks, and engaged members of the public.

RSVP to receive the entry barcode to the event. Light refreshments served at 6:00 PM. Presentations to begin at 6:30 PM.
