Chicago Sky Honors Colonel Jennifer Pritzker During the Military Moment of the Game

CHICAGO, Aug. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Chicago Sky honored Colonel (IL) Jennifer N. Pritzker, IL ARNG (Retired), during the Military Moment of the Game on Sunday, August 19. In partnership with Robert Morris University, the Chicago Sky Military Moment of the Game recognizes local service members and veterans for their dedication to our country.

"On behalf of the entire WNBA Chicago Sky family, we would like to express what a tremendous honor it was to recognize Col. Pritzker during our Military Moment of the game," says Jeanne Polydoris, military and veterans outreach chair for the Chicago Sky. "We honor Col. Pritzker for her service to our country and for the unbelievable support she provides to those who wear the uniform, both past and present, and their families who serve along with them. She's a true patriot."

Pritzker was enlisted in the U.S. Army as a private in 1974, where she served with the 82nd Airborne Division. She continued to serve active duty until 1985, where she rose to the rank of captain, serving with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY and VII Corps in the Federal Republic of Germany. She then served in the U.S. Army Reserve and the Illinois Army National Guard until her retirement in March 2001. She retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and received an honorary promotion to full Colonel in the Illinois Army National Guard. She has been honored with more than 20 military awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.

"I am honored for the nomination and recognition by Chicago Sky," says Pritzker, President and CEO of TAWANI Enterprises. "Serving in the United States Army was an important and rewarding time in my life. Currently, I am focused on supporting the military and military history education through the Pritzker Military Museum and Library and the Pritzker Military Foundation."
