SAINTE-HÉLÈNE-DE-KAMOURASKA, QC, Aug. 21, 2018 /CNW/ - The governments of Canada and Quebec recognize the importance of having good recreational infrastructure that encourages people to adopt healthy lifestyles and helps make communities vibrant inclusive places to live.
The Honorable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, and Sébastien Proulx, Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports, Minister Responsible for the Capitale-Nationale Region, today announced that the governments of Canada and Quebec will each invest nearly $4,000 for renovations to the Sainte-Hélène-de-Kamouraska recreation centre.
This financial support comes from the New Building Canada Fund, Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component?Small Communities Fund. The Municipality will also invest close to $4,000 to bring the total government and municipal investment to more than $11,000.
The project involves installing a new floor to cover an area of over 1,800 square feet. Once completed, this work will enable the Municipality to preserve its recreational and sports offerings for youth.
