AMMCOR Supports American Humane Shelter

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., Aug. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- AMMCOR, the premiere Home Owners Association management company based in Orange County, has committed to contributing $20,000 towards American Humane's Shelter to Service program, which trains shelter animals to become companions of war veterans. This year, AMMCOR has sponsored a dog named "Bailey" will be partnered with a war veteran suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and/or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Founded in 1877, American Humane is a network of like-minded animal-loving individuals and organizations that has been protecting the safety, welfare, and well-being of animals for over one hundred and forty years. The non-profit organization serves not only to protect animals but to promote a nurturing bond between animals and humans, which is why partnering trained animals with war veterans in need of companionship is quintessential of American Humane's efforts.

AMMCOR has had a long and rich history of partnership with American humane, particularly with regards to the annual Hero Dog Awards, which is a nation-wide annual event that seeks out and recognizes dogs that perform heroic acts, whether it's lending sight or hearing to a human companion or saving lives on the battlefield. Hero Dogs compete in seven categories, including Law Enforcement/Arson Dogs, Service Dogs, Therapy Dogs, Military Dogs, Search and Rescue Dogs, Guide/Hearing Dogs, and Emerging Hero Dogs (the category for "ordinary" dogs who do extraordinary things).
