North American Veterinary Heart Center Establishes Foundation, names Development Director
JUPITER, Fla., Aug. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Florida North American Veterinary Heart Center, which offers world-class cardiac care for pets in Jupiter, has taken a major step in ensuring the care of future generations of animal companions.
NAVHC has established a 501 (C) 3 not-for-profit foundation "North American Veterinary Heart Center Foundation" NAVHCF and has named Terry Lee Kaly as its Development Director.
"Terry Lee is a seasoned professional with decades of fundraising experience," said Giovanni Di Stadio, president, CEO, and co-founder of the heart center. "And just as important, she has the passion and the drive to help us grow into an internationally recognized center for heart care."
Under Ms. Kaly's guidance, the foundation will coordinate all fundraising initiatives for NAVHCF.
The establishment of a foundation is the latest step for NAVHC as it continues to grow.
It has a founding board of directors that includes:
President ? Jeffrey A. Weiss, D.O., a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, and the National Board of Echocardiography and president of TEAMHealth Anesthesia.
Secretary ? Peter M. Gloggner, vice president and chief human resources officer at Jupiter Medical Center.
Treasurer ? Margaret Worley, vice president at FirstCity Bank of Commerce in Palm Beach Gardens.

Mr. Di Stadio said. "Our Board of Directors in partnership with Ms. Kaly will ensure our success as we rise to the next level."
Since 2010, Ms. Kaly has run TK Associates, a Palm Beach fundraising firm. She is a private wealth banker who has a master's degree from Marywood College and has earned CTFA certification in Planned Giving. She has worked on multiple campaigns for universities, private schools, hospitals and other health-care organizations and large not-for-profit organizations, and has handled projects that included youth services, crisis management, government interaction and environmental protection efforts and their fundraising.

Besides enabling NAVHC to deliver expanded access to world-class care for dogs and cats, money raised also will help establish new high-tech treatment and research facilities to meet global demand for advanced cardiac, pulmonary and renal care and other critical health services.

After all, the area is home to outposts of the fabled Max Planck Institute for Neuroscience and The Scripps Research Institute.

Dr. Pelosi NAVHC's Medical Director said: "The foundation will be instrumental in training the next generation of healers, offering a program that will grant money to veterinary students, providing them with added incentive to become cardiologists and cardiac surgeons."

As part of its mission, the foundation also will defray the cost of unique procedures offered to companion and to "service dogs" trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of individuals with disabilities and will help defray the cost of unique life-saving procedures to "K9" dogs in the service to law enforcement governmental agencies.
