Great Hearts Announces Third Annual Gala to Support Teachers

PHOENIX, Aug. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Great Hearts Academies, Arizona's largest non-profit network of public charter schools, has announced its third annual gala. The event will be held on Sept. 29, 2018 at Chateau Luxe in Phoenix as a celebration of Great Hearts and its teachers in the style of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Funds generated will support programs that will help develop and retain Great Hearts' outstanding teachers, recruited from across the country, to teach in 23 academies in the greater Phoenix area.

This year's Presenting Sponsor is Duley, Bolwar, Pederson. They are a leading national employee benefits consulting firm serving clients since 1970. "The learning environment Great Hearts provides is a commitment to student success, setting a higher standard of intellectual and moral formation for the next generation," said John Pederson, Partner. "DBP is proud to support the Gala once again, and to also continue supporting the professional development of the great teachers who are shaping the future of our children."

The program will feature Great Hearts students and teachers, highlighting student Morgan James, this year's BARD competition winner, a scene from a Shakespeare play performed by Great Hearts Prep students and an address by Captain Joel K. Malkin, Captain, Marine Corps, Great Hearts alumnus, and Dartmouth Valedictorian.

"We're honored to co-chair this year's Great Hearts' gala. We've been part of the Great Hearts family in Goodyear for the past seven years," stated event co-chairs Mary Helen & Robert McElfresh. "The gala is a great way to enjoy the night knowing the funds raised will be used to provide development and continued education for our teachers. We're proud to support this great organization's passion, not only in creating top rated classical academies, but also one that realizes the value of good teachers and supports their growth."

Additional key event sponsors include: Rose Law Group, Arizona Bank and Trust, CenturyLink, Depcom Power, Baird, Cigna, Phoenix Suns Charities and Fester & Chapman P.C.
