Optiva Appoints Jason Rouault as Chief Technology Officer

Rouault joins Optiva to drive product portfolio of cloud-native software solutions to propel telco customers into the next generation

TORONTO, Aug. 16, 2018 /CNW/ - Optiva Inc. (TSX: OPT), an innovative software provider of mission-critical, cloud-native monetization and customer management products and solutions to leading communication service providers (CSPs) globally, is pleased to announce that Jason Rouault has joined Optiva as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Rouault, previously as CTO and VP of engineering with Cloudvisory, provided the technical vision, product management and engineering for the Cloudvisory Security Platform, an enterprise-class platform trusted by Fortune 500 companies. His career with Cloudvisory, and before that Time Warner Cable and Hewlett-Packard, has been distinguished by a focus on emerging technologies, product development, security and future technology direction.

During his tenure with Hewlett-Packard, where Rouault served for 17 years, in his role as director of engineering for HP Cloud Services, he was one of the original team members who helped build the HP Public Cloud business. Creating the business from the ground up, he was responsible for driving the technical strategy, architecture and business direction for HP Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

"The goal of Optiva's commitment to invest $100 million in research and development is to equip customers for success today and in the future. Through agile software development and architecture, we can achieve highly scalable and available cloud and big data monetization solutions. The recent announcement of the Optiva Charging Engine becoming available on Kubernetes and Google Cloud Spanner is an example of this," said Rouault. "I look forward to continuing and expanding Optiva's work as a product trailblazer and market disruptor."

With over 25 years of technology management experience, Rouault believes cutting-edge solutions, such as cloud-native monetization products, are the key to success for telcos. His priority is the development of products explicitly engineered to solve customers' problems, meet their needs and challenges and sustain them as top competitors in their markets.

"Jason's expertise and vision are powerful for our customers and product advancement," said Danielle Royston, CEO of Optiva. "We must rethink the solutions of the past and engineer next-generation, cloud-native software solutions, where telco is going. Jason's product and technology experience will help customers meet the challenges of a competitive, disruptive and constantly-changing market through advancing technologies."
