Seizure of contraband and unauthorized items at Drumheller Institution - Minimum security unit
DRUMHELLER, AB, Aug. 15, 2018 /CNW/ - On August 10, 2018, at about 9:20 p.m., as a result of the vigilance of staff members, a package containing contraband and unauthorized items was seized on the perimeter of the minimum security unit at Drumheller Institution.
The contraband and unauthorized items seized included bottles of steroids, steroid capsules, pouches of tobacco, cigarettes, rolling papers and t shirts. The total estimated institutional value of this seizure is $12,490.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is heightening measures to prevent contraband from entering its institutions in order to help ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone. CSC also works in partnership with the police to take action against those who attempt to introduce contraband into correctional institutions.
