Americans invited to attend 2018 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo
north of the border

ST. JOHNS, MI, Aug. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - Despite tough trade talk between American and Canadian officials, it's arms wide open for the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo Sept. 18-22.

The Ontario Plowmen's Association is at the AgroExpo in St. Johns, Michigan on Aug. 14-15 to personally invite the American agricultural community to join their brothers and sisters to the north.

"There is no other event as rich in history and rural roots with grand displays of all things agriculture as The International Plowing Match and Rural Expo," says Kailey Donaldson, reigning Ontario Queen of the Furrow ? a crown awarded during the annual event. "I encourage everyone, young and old, to take part in this annual celebration! Be a part of history!"

The IPM is held in a different community every year ? this time in Chatham-Kent, an hour drive east of Detroit. It attracts more than 80,000 visitors from Canada and the United States, offering five days of competitions, live entertainment, 500+ vendors and exhibitors, children's activities, antique and historical displays, and much more. Adding to the excitement this year will be several Guinness World Record attempts.

"If you've never been, it's like nothing you've experienced before," says David Murry, President of the Ontario Plowmen's Association, which joins with a local committee to host the IPM in a different location each year.

"It's something people look forward to every September. It's a tradition that's existed for 100 years."

Take advantage of the low Canadian dollar in our Tented City offering 500 vendors and exhibitors, from heavy machinery to food and rural living. Explore antique and historical displays, and new technologies in the Farming for the Future tent.

Don't miss the junior and adult plowing competitions or the annual Queen of the Furrow contest.
