Reproductive Fertility Center's Dr. Peyman Saadat Discusses Nuclear Cytoplasmic Transfer as the Possible Future of Increased Egg and Embryo Viability

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Peyman Saadat, medical director of Reproductive Fertility Center, one of the premier fertility centers in the United States, believes that nuclear cytoplasmic transfer, a technique that aims to improve egg and embryo quality, may soon be on the horizon for use to improve egg quality.

Peyman Saadat, M.D.

Cytoplasmic transfer is accomplished by the transfer of donated ooplasm, from oocyte donors deemed fertile, into a patient's cells, which are of poorer quality.  This treatment is done as part of an IVF cycle.  During fertilization (ICSI ? intracytoplasmic sperm injection), a small amount of healthy, donated ooplasm (cytoplasm of an ovum) is transferred into the compromised ova.

This technique offers renewed hope for patients that have suffered through unsuccessful IVF cycles. This technique is indicated in cases of multiple failed implantations, recurrent miscarriages, low egg quality, poor embryo quality, premature ovarian failure, to name a few.

Being at the forefront of cutting edge techniques and treatment options is only one of the reasons that Dr. Peyman Saadat continues to have one of highest success rates, which is available to see on the CDC website.  Every day, Reproductive Fertility Center helps families to become the parents they are meant to be.
