Sysmex Celebrates 50th Anniversary, Shares Plans For Innovative Technology To Equip Clinical Lab Of The Future, At 2018 AACC

CHICAGO, July 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Sysmex, one of the fastest growing providers of diagnostic hardware and software in the U.S., celebrates its 50th anniversary in booth number 1231 at this year's annual meeting of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC). The company is also sharing its plans to equip the clinical laboratory of the future with innovative solutions in flow cytometry, urinalysis and hematology.

Sysmex America, Inc. Logo.

"As we celebrate five decades of providing laboratories around the world with highly accurate, efficient and dependable diagnostic solutions, we are excited about what we have in store for the laboratory of the future," said Ralph Taylor, chief executive officer of Sysmex America. "The path to better healthcare is through better testing and Sysmex is lighting the way."

Held at Chicago's McCormick Place convention facility, AACC is attended by approximately 20,000 clinical laboratory professionals from more than 110 countries.

"Laboratories are facing growing staffing and reimbursement challenges," said Andy Hay, chief operating officer of Sysmex America. "Sysmex is developing innovative solutions that increase efficiency and allow clinical laboratory professionals to do the work that both ignites their passion for diagnostics and leads to the greatest impact on patient care."

Sysmex is innovating across all of its diagnostic practices, including flow cytometry, urinalysis and hematology. For Sysmex, the future involves automating even more of the laboratory workflow and helping its customers optimize the value of their existing investments through solutions with greater flexibility, modularity, scalability and branching.

Revolutionizing urinalysis

At AACC, Sysmex will show its first fully automated urine particle analyzer. The new analyzer reduces the need for manual slide review and delivers first-pass accuracy and unprecedented workflow efficiency. The UN series consists of three analyzer modules and is the first fully configurable urinalysis solution to offer expanded parameters. The innovative analyzer is awaiting U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for sale in the U.S.

In addition to being configurable to meet the needs of every laboratory, Sysmex's solution will allow laboratorians to focus more of their time on analyzing test results.

A new vision for flow cytometry

Sysmex will be entering the flow cytometry field with a new solution for laboratories that improves workflow efficiency and more. Visitors to the Sysmex booth will see the company's comprehensive flow cytometry system. The new device is highly automated, features a broad portfolio of CyFlow anti-body reagents and the PS-10 sample preparation system with automated cell wash.

The new product will also include the XF-1600 flow cytometer with multi-colored capability, high sample throughput and software solutions for the most difficult samples. Sysmex's new flow cytometry solution is not yet approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for sale in the U.S.

Broadest hematology product line in U.S.

Sysmex will also be displaying its FDA-cleared XN-20 complete blood count (CBC) analyzer, a complementary system to its XN-10. It offers all of the functionality of the XN-10, but also adds:

Beyond Care Quality Management-equipped systems have automated quality control monitoring. Additionally, the technology sends messages to lab managers or Sysmex service representatives when the device requires attention and provides lab managers with easy-to-read dashboard reports on the status of their analyzer.

On July 24, Sysmex America and Advanced Instruments announced a partnership that will broaden the Sysmex portfolio with Advanced Instruments' automated "GloCyte" cell counter system. The technology provides an unprecedented detection level for automated cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) cell counts to labs across the Americas. A GloCyte system will be on display at Sysmex's booth at AACC.

Sysmex will also be showing its first-of-its-kind XW-100, the world's first CLIA-waived CBC analyzer that can provide three-part blood test results in as few as three minutes, allowing patients to get answers faster and their physicians to develop treatment plans more quickly.

Veterinary care

Sysmex America is growing in the veterinary care market as well. The company is collaborating with AACC's Division of Animal Clinical Chemistry (DACC) and IDEXXX to bring innovative solutions to the care of animals.

Sysmex's XN-V is a unique, total multispecies hematology analyzer solution with specialized software that allows unlimited flexibility to monitor multiple species in research facilities. Its low aspiration volume, intuitive software and exceptional reliability make a unique product offering, along with the Sysmex hallmarks of providing laboratories with greater efficiency, standardization and reliability.

Lab-optimizing innovation

Sysmex's "BeyondCare" suite of solutions is another way the company is automating processes and workflows that take laboratorians away from applying their expertise analyzing test results. The Sysmex "Caresphere" dashboard is a network solution, providing data consolidation, real-time metrics and actionable alerts to increase the operational efficiency of laboratories.
