The AFNQL Congratulates Perry Bellegarde On His Re-election to the Position of AFN National Chief
VANCOUVER, July 25, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - The Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador (AFNQL) congratulates Perry Bellegarde for his election to the position of National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) for a second consecutive term.
His political experience, his career path in defending the rights and interests of our citizens as well as his long-standing commitment to our peoples ensure continuity of many priority issues for our First Nations governments.
The AFNQL will continue to rely on the support of National Chief Bellegarde to strengthen our jurisdiction over current and future federal political issues, particularly in the areas of education, housing, languages, public safety and the relationship with the Crown, in respect of the particularities of the communities in the Quebec-Labrador region», declared Ghislain Picard, Chief of the AFNQL.
