Guiding Peru Donates Back to Local Andean Communities in the Cusco Region

CUSCO, Peru, July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Guiding Peru, a top-rated Peru tour company, providing guided tours of Machu Picchu to visitors of Peru, announced its support of Andean communities in the Cusco region through a combination of donations and policies that support the local economy.

"Guiding Peru donates time, in terms of labor on local projects, and monies to assist with the support of local projects to the Andean mountain villages where our staff reside," said John Dzurka, owner and Executive Director of Guiding Peru.

Each of Guiding Peru's tour guides are native to the local Andean mountain villages surrounding Cusco, providing travelers inside knowledge of the area and unique insights into their unique culture. The Peru tour company also works with local organizations to reserve the best rates for its travelers.

In addition to providing the best travel experience for their guests, the Machu Picchu travel agency is focused on giving back to the local communities in which it operates.

"By employing locals of the region, we insure the sustainability of the local Andean communities and their Quechua cultures," Dzurka said.

Providing employment to those locals puts money directly back into the community. Those residents then have the means to shop in the community and support businesses in the community, which helps the region's economy thrive.

In addition to providing employment, Guiding Peru and its Inca Trail tour guides also contribute to the economy through its choice of tour locations.

"Guiding Peru's tours include community visits to our staff's local Andean mountain villages where, in a form of reciprocity, we provide our guests the option of purchasing local, hand-made wool crafts that directly support the people of the community," Dzurka said.

Through these policies, travelers are able to explore the region with an insider's perspective, and the local community gets the support it needs to grow and prosper. As the community grows, it has more to offer travelers, which makes it a more attractive place to visit. As a result, the number of people traveling to the region increases, creating a feedback cycle that has a long-term, positive impact on the region.
