American Red Cross Elects Johnny C. Taylor, Jr. as New Member to National Board of Governors

WASHINGTON, July 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Red Cross has elected to its National Board of Governors Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of the Society for Human Resource Management.

The Red Cross is led by a Board of Governors with all of the powers of governing and directing, as well as overseeing the management of the business and affairs of the organization. At the Annual Meeting of the Red Cross held on July 19, 2018, delegates from local Red Cross units elected Taylor to a three-year term.

Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world's largest HR professional society. Mr. Taylor is the immediate past President and Chief Executive Officer of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. Previously, he held positions at IAC/Interactive Corp, McGuireWoods LLC, Compass Group USA, Viacom's Paramount Pictures Live Entertainment Group and Blockbuster Entertainment Group. President Trump appointed Mr. Taylor Chairman of the President's Advisory Board on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Additionally, he is a member of the board of directors of Gallup and a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Miami. He also serves as an adviser to Safe Streets & Second Chances.
