Love Street Festival Celebrates Laurel Canyon


LOS ANGELES, July 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Now in its sixth year, the Love Street Festival will honor The Doors on the 50th Anniversary of the release of their Number One song "Love Street." A dedication ceremony and special performances will take place on Sunday, July 22nd 2018 at 2100 Laurel Canyon Blvd, above and below the Canyon Country Store. The event is a fundraiser to preserve Laurel Canyon's open space and wildlife corridor.  

Artists that helped define the spirit of Laurel Canyon and place it on the map as a hotbed of cultural influence will appear throughout the day. Confirmed appearances include Robby Krieger and John Densmore of The Doors; The Mamas & The Papas' Michelle Phillips; Micky Dolenz of The Monkees; Love co-founder Jonny Echols; Wilson Phillips; Bijou Phillips; Chris Stills; local musicians influenced by the sounds of Laurel Canyon, and some very special guests to be announced! Special tribute planned for album art director Gary Burden. Rock Photographer Henry Diltz to be honored.

Love Street Festival cofounders Greg Cipes (Teen Titan's Beast Boy) and Chef Sandy Gendel (Pace) first set out to celebrate Laurel Canyon's spirit and protect and preserve the Canyon, its cultural history and its way of life when they launched their inaugural festival. Proceeds from this year's 6th anniversary festival will benefit We Are Laurel Canyon, a non profit 501(c)(3) organization for the purchase of land at risk of development on Laurel Canyon Blvd.

Advanced Nutrients, The Houdini Estate, Kriser's Natural Pet, Farmer's Daughter Hotel, Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council, Canyonhaus, Tashman Home Center, KetoPet, 8150 Sunset/Townscape Partners, Au Fudge Camp and 40 Years in the Making: The Magic Music Movie are sponsors of Love Street Festival 2018. Pace Restaurant and The Canyon Country Store will be open for business and serving pizza, sandwiches, beer and wine. 

We Are Laurel Canyon, Pace, The Canyon Country Store, Greg Cipes and Owen Elliot Kugell host this year's Festival with support from Councilmember David Ryu and LA City Council District Four.
