Hip Hop Leaders Celebrates Successful Power Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Showcasing Talents From Silicon Valley to the NBA


BERKELEY, Calif., July 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Nonprofit, Hip Hop Leaders' (HHL) inaugural Cyber Security & Artificial Intelligence Conference successfully delivered life-changing moments for teen girls and teen boys aged 13-17 years of age from underrepresented groups. The 3-day, 2-night conference, was hosted on the campus of the prestigious University of California at Berkeley this past weekend providing students a full college experience footsteps away from the iconic Silicon Valley. The title sponsor of the event was 1600 Cyber International.

The HHL 2018 Conference's most celebrated highlights included: A stacked Power Women In Tech Panel consisting of Nancy Wang Founder of AWIP, PM at Rubrik and former PM at Google, Sri Ramaswamy, CEO of Infinilytics, Eli Potter Sr. Director of Digital Platforms at Autodesk, Olga Mack VP of Strategy Quantstamp, Nikki Hallgrimmsdottir Co-Founder Algomus, Lucia Hicks-William President of Get UP! and former VP of Product Management at Spluck, and Jacqueline Catala Senior Consultant Spearhead Group. NBA's inspiring Jennifer Cabalquinto, CFO of the Golden State Warriors, led the Champions Breakfast. Cabalquinto moved many as she spoke frankly of her humble beginnings, and inspired the group leaving them her greatest lessons of pursuing challenges and to always push beyond their comfort zones ? because this is where opportunity and greatness lie. And it was this approach that led her to her current Executive Position with the NBA Champions. For Hip Hop expressive arts stood industry icon Shawn GranBerry of Hip Hop TV, and HBO's Brave New Voices very own Isaiah Stowers who delved deeper to inspire teens with his compelling, spoken word and Poetry Slam sessions. Each teen developed their own poetry that spoke of their personal journeys.

Donald Martin of Google, keynote speaker Kevin Nichols of the Social Engineering Project, Francis Morelos & Akili Polee AI & Blockchain Global Entrepreneurs, Chloe Messdaghi, and Altif Brown CCO and Co-Founder of Constellation Labs, joined these brilliant contributors to further convey open honest truths about their careers/ educational journeys ? all the while standing passionately by the need for the teens to understand this desperate need for diversity in STEM field. As well as the amazing opportunities. Common themes delivered to teens were: The importance of and paths of education, resilience, hard work, brave attitudes, the versatility of the industry and to always believe and show how smart they are.
