InDemand Interpreting Partners with InTouch Health to Expand Anywhere, Anytime, Access to Medically Qualified Interpreters for Telehealth Encounters

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., July 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- InTouch Health, the leading enterprise telehealth platform, today announced a partnership with InDemand Interpreting, a technology-enabled medical interpreting company. The strategic partnership will enable clinicians to connect with medically qualified interpreters through the InTouch Virtual Care Platform.

With a vision to ensure every patient receives the highest quality healthcare, regardless of language, cultural background or disability, InDemand partners with healthcare organizations nationwide to bridge the communication gap between limited English proficient (LEP), Deaf and hard of hearing patients (HOH) and their clinicians. Through the InTouch Platform, healthcare professionals will be able to immediately connect to medically qualified interpreters 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in more than 200 languages, including American Sign Language (ASL) and Certified Deaf Interpreters (CDIs).

InTouch Health provides a virtual care network, solutions and services to support access and delivery of high-quality clinical care to any patient at any time, while reducing the overall cost of care. This partnership enables InDemand to expand its goal of anytime, anywhere access to medically qualified interpreters for telehealth encounters.

"We look forward to offering health systems even more services as we open up our network to increase the value we provide our customers," said Joseph M. DeVivo, InTouch Health CEO. "As patient diversity increases and virtual care allows health systems to grow globally, the need for these language services is becoming even more important. Leveraging InDemand Interpreting through the InTouch Platform demonstrates our commitment to build a single virtual care platform through development work and partnerships, with the ultimate goal of improving access to high-quality care."

"InDemand applauds InTouch Health's commitment to serve the needs of all patients by integrating video remote interpreting (VRI) as part of its platform to improve communications for telehealth encounters," said InDemand's Chairman and CEO, Cecil Kost. "We are delighted to partner with an industry leader like InTouch to enable anytime, anywhere access to medically qualified interpreters."
