Attorneys for Coryell Hospital Explosion Burn Victim Granted Temporary Restraining Order to Protect Evidence at Explosion Site

GATESVILLE, Texas, July 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The CEO of Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville held a news conference yesterday announcing the emergency room is open and they are actively cleaning up the site after the June 26 deadly explosion that killed 2 and injured 12.

Attorneys for injured electrician Wilber Dimas filed and were granted a restraining order today in the McLennan county district court in an effort to retain the scene to protect the primary physical evidence that could indicate the cause of the explosion. 

"Workers have indicated they are actively engaged in altering the hospital premises where the explosion occurred," says Dimas family attorney Rob Ammons. "These alterations to the explosion site are going forward despite the fact that the Occupation Safety and Health Administration and Railroad Commission of Texas and others are investigating the explosion and those investigations are not yet concluded. It's only fair for the people most directly impacted by this tragic event have an opportunity to examine the evidence before it is altered or destroyed."
