RCMP lay human smuggling charges
LONDON, ON, June 28, 2018 /CNW/ - Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) London Financial Crime Unit, working in partnership with the United States Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), have charged an individual with three counts of conspiracy to smuggle persons into the United States.
The investigation began in September 2017 when the RCMP was contacted by HSI regarding persons from Canada coming to the United States illegally. As a result of the investigation Trong Hoang Nguyen (27) of London was charged with Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence (x3) contrary to the Criminal Code.
Mr. Nguyen is scheduled to appear on July 20th, 2018, Courtroom 5, 9:30 am at the London Courthouse, 80 Dundas Street, London.
