California Film & Television Production Alliance Statement On Gov. Jerry Brown Signing The Extension Of The California Film And Television Tax Credit Program

LOS ANGELES, June 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The California Film & Television Production Alliance ? a coalition of unions, guilds, producers -- studio and independent, small businesses around the state, and associations that have worked together for more than a decade to promote, improve, and enhance film and television production in the State of California ? today issued the following statement:

"We represent small businesses, film commissions, producers, local government officials, and most importantly, thousands of working men and women across the state who, starting in 2014 were able once again to work on motion picture production in California.  This was made possible thanks to the California Film and Television Tax Credit Program 2.0 enacted by Governor Brown and the California Legislature - a program which has brought thousands of jobs and resulted in productions spending $5.9 billion throughout California's economy. Today, thanks to SB 871, that success story will continue through 2025.  We thank Governor Brown for his support by signing SB 871 into law today. We thank the bill's authors, Majority Leader Ian Calderon and Senator Holly Mitchell, for their commitment and standing steadfastly with us from the beginning as well as Speaker Rendon and Senate Pro Tempore Atkins for getting us across the finish line.
