The Adam Helps App Launches in Calgary June 27

CALGARY, Alberta, June 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On? Wednesday June 27, the Adam Helps app will be available in Calgary. The? Adam Helps app facilitates a peer-to-peer marketplace offering a network of socially screened neighbours who provide services from pet-sitting to household repairs.

The Adam Helps app has been live in Toronto for eight months. In that short time, the app has garnered more than 8,000 active users and 950 completed jobs across the city of Toronto. Calgary is known as a friendly and collaborative city making it the second city Adam Helps will launch in.

According to statistics Canada, Calgary has an increasing number of Calgarians living in single detached homes or condos? that require ongoing household maintenance. Calgary also attracts thousands of post-secondary students who seek out flexible work to meet their scheduling and financial needs. ?Adam Helps marries the nostalgic concept of helping your neighbour with the technological ability to have your needs met on demand, and on budget.

The founder of the Adam Helps app, Adam McLeod was inspired to create this app after witnessing several people in his area who regularly struggled with some of their daily responsibilities, like carrying groceries and moving furniture. He found that they often had to do these tasks on their own, simply because they didn't know anyone who could help them. Adam saw the opportunity for a mobile app to bridge that gap.

"My whole family lives in Calgary and I've had the pleasure of spending a lot of time in this great City. I think Calgarians identify strongly with the neighbourhoods in which they live, and I feel like they're looking for ways to get to know the people around them", says Adam McLeod, Founder of Adam Helps. "We wanted to bring our app here to make help accessible to everyone, while offering a great option for people to earn extra money on their own time. With Adam Helps, Calgarians can meet their neighbours, and get any task done by a local helper, while supporting their community."

The app uses geo-location technology to keep work local to your neighbourhood; making work and help accessible and convenient. Whether you're looking for help or interested in providing help, it's easier than ever before. From Beltline to Nolan Hill, you can connect with people in your neighbourhood from your smartphone. It's as easy as posting a task, selecting the best candidate, coordinating details with in-app messaging and completing the task.

Calgarians will have access to the app on iOS and Android as of Wednesday, June 27, 2018. adamhelps.com.
