Nexus Names Dr. Michelle K. Murray President, Chief Executive Officer


PLYMOUTH, Minn., June 15, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Following a national search, Nexus, a provider of youth and family solutions, has selected Dr. Michelle K. Murray as President, Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.  Dr. Murray has been acting as Interim Chief Executive Officer at Nexus since December 2017.

Dr. Murray originally came to Nexus in 2010 as Director of Clinical Services, and was subsequently promoted to Vice President of Clinical Services and Chief Clinical Officer.  Prior to Nexus, Dr. Murray held executive and clinical leadership roles at Liberty Healthcare Corporation and Adelphoi Village at NTCH, both in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Murray brings not only a strong background in clinical and executive leadership, but a variety of partnerships and affiliations.  She has served as board chair and board member for Nexus affiliates, and as a Mentor for the Alliance Executive Leadership Institute.  She is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers.  

Dr. Murray holds a BS in Psychology from Brigham Young University, a Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy and a PhD in Marriage & Family Therapy from Syracuse University.  She earned a certificate in Executive Leadership from the University of Michigan's Schools of Business and Social Work and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

She is the co-author of "Anxious children and their families: Affirming courageous alternatives," published in C. Everett Bailey's "Children in Therapy: Using the Family as a Resource."  (W. W. Norton, 2000)
