Civil Rights Leader and U.S. Congressional Representative John Lewis to Serve as Keynote Speaker for The Art Institute of Atlanta Commencement on June 18, 2018
ATLANTA, June 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Art Institute of Atlanta is proud to announce that 30-year U.S. Congressman and prominent Civil Rights leader John Lewis will be the keynote speaker at the college's 2018 commencement ceremony, taking place at 11 a.m. on June 18 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta. The Art Institute will confer 328 diplomas through bachelor's degrees to students in the design, media arts, culinary arts and fashion.
Often called "one of the most courageous persons the Civil Rights Movement ever produced," John Lewis has dedicated his life to protecting human rights, securing civil liberties, and building what he calls "The Beloved Community" in America. His dedication to the highest ethical standards and moral principles has won him the admiration of many of his colleagues on both sides of the aisle in the United States Congress.
