IKEA recalls the SLADDA Bicycle Due to Fall Hazard

BURLINGTON, ON, May 24, 2018 /CNW/ - Effective immediately, IKEA Canada is recalling the SLADDA bicycle due to a fall hazard.

IKEA has received 11 reports worldwide of the SLADDA drive belt breaking, including two resulting in minor injury. None of the incidents were reported in Canada.

At IKEA, the safety and security of everyone who comes into contact with our products is of the utmost importance and we act immediately to mitigate identified safety risks. For this reason IKEA is voluntarily recalling the SLADDA bicycle.

Customers that have a SLADDA bicycle are urged to stop using it and to return it to any IKEA store for a full refund. Although not recalled and able to fit with other bicycles, the SLADDA accessories can also be refunded.

Customers should return their SLADDA bicycles at the Returns & Exchange department at any IKEA store or call IKEA Customer Service toll-free, 1-800-661-9807 for a full refund. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required by IKEA for this recall.

The SLADDA bicycle was sold in Canada from August 2016 until January 2018. IKEA apologizes for any inconvenience and wants to thank all customers for their understanding.
