Modern Transportation Announces Executive Team Adjustments


PITTSBURGH, May 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Modern Transportation is pleased to announce the promotion of Tammy Bennett and welcomes accomplished operations veteran, Chris Gallowitz, and top safety professional, Kevin Shiflett, to its executive leadership team.

Ms. Bennett, who joined Modern as Director of Human Resources in January of 2014, has recently been named Vice President of Safety and Human Resources. Having established a transportation career marked by positions of increasing responsibility in HR, Operations, and Sales, Ms. Bennett will now assume responsibility for the overall safe performance of Modern, while continuing to guide the many facets of the Human Resources function. Mr. Shiflett, who has been instrumental in developing an enhanced degree of safety accountability to companies throughout his career, brings an enhanced knowledge of Federal Safety Standards to a company that has accepted twelve consecutive Platinum National Safety Awards from Great West Casualty Company. Shiflett has also been tagged to advance Modern's initiative to gain certified status as a Responsible Care fleet later this year.

Finally, Modern announces the addition of Chris Gallowitz. Mr. Gallowitz, an accomplished senior-level executive with a track record of successful strategic and tactical leadership within the transportation industry, assumes the position of Vice President of Operations. From his service in the United States Merchant Marines to his most recent position as President of a Texas-based logistics firm, Mr. Gallowitz has established a reputation marked with operational excellence.
