Three Brome-Missisquoi organizations share almost $100,000 from the Government of Canada

The aim of the financial assistance is to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the region

The announcement of three non-repayable contributions totalling $97,375 was made today by the Honourable Denis Paradis, Member of Parliament for Brome?Missisquoi, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED), along with the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, and the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage.

First and foremost, CED has awarded a non-repayable contribution of $61,810 to Vitalité Frelighsburg, under the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program, to upgrade the playground in Paul Goodhue park. The play area and sports fields, as well as the parking lot, were refurbished in 2017.

Furthermore, as part of the Homelessness Partnering Strategy program, the Department of Families, Children and Social Development has provided an additional contribution of $33,465 to the Cowansville Maison Hébergement Jeunesse Espace Vivant/Living Room, for after-shelter follow-up.

Finally, through the Celebrate Canada Program, the Department of Canadian Heritage has granted $2,100 to the Stanbridge-East Sports Association for Canada Day celebrations.
