The mayor of Montréal welcomes the overview of the 2007-2017 Action Plan - Montréal, Cultural Metropolis and announces the Rendez-Vous 2019


MONTRÉAL, May 7, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - The mayor of Montréal, Valérie Plante, along with Christine Gosselin, the executive committee member in charge of culture, heritage and design, met with the Steering Committee of Montréal, Cultural metropolis, as well as with numerous representatives of the cultural, economic, university and social/community fields for the launching of the Special 2007-2017 edition of At a Glance, Montréal, Cultural Metropolis.

Every year, At a Glance, Montréal, Cultural Metropolis presents an overview of cultural accomplishments that reflect our city's cultural diversity, its growth and vitality. This special 2007-2017 edition overviews the numerous successful projects that have contributed to the prominence of Montréal's culture, as much in its neighborhoods, as in the international arena, over the past ten years. These examples show the great cultural vitality of this metropolis of Québec since the adoption of the 2007-2017 Action Plan ? Montréal, Cultural Metropolis.

"Today, we can be proud of a job well done! Montréal's cultural bustle was maintained and is now the envy of others. We owe this to our partners, who have sprung into action and have worked in an exemplary spirit of collaboration to realize the Action Plan. "Montréal is home to a growing and diverse cultural scene, namely through its library network (Bibliothèques de Montréal) and through the Accès culture network. Our city has also become a prized cultural destination, namely due to its very dynamic Quartier des spectacles", said Christine Gosselin.

The mayor of Montréal took the opportunity, during the launching of the Special 2007-2017 edition of At a Glance, Montréal, Cultural Metropolis to announce the upcoming Rendez-Vous Montréal, Cultural Metropolis, in 2019, an event that will help consolidate achievements and continue to expand the city's cultural development. "Culture contributes to the quality of life of our citizens, all the while driving economic development and shaping the identity of our metropolis. We would like to invite all of our partners to continue their collaborative work, raising Montréal to new cultural heights", concluded Valérie Plante.
