LodiDodi Releases Pair of Commercials Discussing Adult Cannabis Consumption

Retail cannabis brand looks to spark conversation regarding outdated stigma

CALGARY, April 20, 2018 /CNW/ - Today, Lodi Dodi Inc. (LodiDodi), a recreational adult-use retail cannabis brand based in Calgary, Alberta released a two-part online commercial series that deals with the stigma associated with cannabis consumption among adults. The commercials are intended to engage the public in a discussion about adult cannabis consumption and illustrate that responsible cannabis consumption by adults should not be viewed negatively by society. The commercials also point out that prohibition-era stereotypes and stigmas are flawed and outdated.

Co-founder Kiran Sthankiya commented "With legalization approaching, it's time we had an honest conversation about adults choosing cannabis for non-medicinal needs. Adults shouldn't feel ashamed of enjoying a product that has been proven to be safer than several other regulated products currently available to them. We can't expect cannabis consumers to comfortably participate in a regulated, legal market if we continue to create false narratives about cannabis and those who choose to consume it."

In the making of these commercials, LodiDodi employed a humorous approach setting the ads in a world where other products were portrayed with the same negative connotations typically associated with cannabis. The commercials will be available for viewing on various social media platforms as well as YouTube and Vimeo.
