RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association to Observe National Infertility Awareness Week®

MCLEAN, Va., April 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association will recognize National Infertility Awareness Week®, April 22 through April 28, 2018. The movement brings together millions of Americans who want to remove the stigmas and barriers that stand in the way of building families. Centered around this year's NIAW theme #FlipTheScript, RESOLVE will rally the infertility community to change the conversation around infertility.

"Anyone can be challenged to have a family. No matter what race, religion, sexuality or economic status you are, infertility doesn't discriminate," said Barbara Collura, RESOLVE's President/CEO. "National Infertility Awareness Week is a great opportunity for the infertility community to come together to make sure that the public, media, insurers, healthcare professionals, and lawmakers focus on the issues that can truly improve the lives of people living with infertility."

Throughout NIAW, members of the infertility community will share their stories and lead the conversation about challenges to family building and methods of resolution. Through national media, local events, social media, awareness walks, and fundraising, the infertility community will take action to increase awareness of infertility in order to remove stigmas and improve access to family building options.

RESOLVE's National Infertility Awareness Week 2018 is supported by its NIAW Partners: ARC Fertility, Church and Dwight, makers of First Response, EMD Serono, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Fertility Centers of Illinois, IntegraMed Fertility, LendingClub Patient Solutions, Merck, Progyny, and Shady Grove Fertility Center.

NIAW became a federally recognized health observance by the Department of Health and Human Services in 2010. RESOLVE can provide experts for interviews on all aspects of infertility, as well as personal patient stories from women and men living with infertility. Find out more about NIAW at infertilityawareness.org.
