Sherwood Ford Partners With Edmonton Organizations To Provide Transportation For Humboldt Broncos

SHERWOOD PARK, Alberta, April 18, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Tragedy struck the entire country of Canada on April 6, 2018, when 16 members of the Humboldt Broncos hockey team were killed in a bus crash near Armley, Saskatchewan. In the wake of such a disaster, local Alberta businesses including Edmonton-area dealership Sherwood Ford stepped in to aid team members and families in their deepest hour of need.  

Four members of the Broncos team were native Edmontonians, and their families arranged for a candlelight vigil to commemorate them at Rogers Place, the home arena of the Edmonton Oilers, on April 17. With help from local Edmonton organizations, Sherwood Ford arranged for transport to and from the Edmonton airport for victims' families and friends, carrying over 50 people in a fleet of 12 Ford Explorer models.  

Other businesses and organizations involved in this transport service included Leduc County Fire Service, Edmonton International Airport Emergency Response Services, Royal Canadian Mounted Police ? Leduc Detachment, North Cariboo Air, AIG Travel, Oilers Entertainment Group, and Rogers Place.  

In the midst of such a catastrophic happening, the Canadian community has more than come together to aid the victims of the Broncos' bus crash and their families. A GoFundMe account set up for the victims raised over $4 million overnight and is currently up to over $13.5 million. All are encouraged to donate if they so choose.
