Cadillac Fairview Celebrates $1 Million Milestone in Donations to The Hospital for Sick Children and the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario

Annual CF Run/Walk at CF Shops at Don Mills will support the pursuit of cancer care and research for children

TORONTO, April 17, 2018 /CNW/ - On Sunday April 29, Cadillac Fairview (CF) will host its 14th annual charity CF Run/Walk in support of The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO), with 100 per cent of funds raised going to further advance cancer care and research for children.  Since 2014, Cadillac Fairview has raised $1 million in funds for SickKids and POGO through this long-standing signature fundraising event, with last year's 650 participants contributing $250,000 to the causes.

"Finding meaningful ways to support our community is fundamental to us as a business and as active members in the communities we serve," said Sal Iacono, Executive Vice President, Operations, Cadillac Fairview. "We are humbled by the support of our partners, clients, employees and consumers for their contributions, as we could not have accomplished our fundraising goals without all of these teams coming together."

"We are extremely grateful for the generous support that Cadillac Fairview staff and supporters have shown over the last 14 years," says Seanna Millar, Senior Vice President, Community & Corporate Partnerships, SickKids Foundation. "SickKids recently launched the largest fundraising campaign in Canadian health care history to build a new SickKids. We rely on community support such as this to help us achieve our goal and allow us to continue to provide world-class clinical care, education and research."

"We value our longstanding partnership with Cadillac Fairview and appreciate their commitment to championing childhood cancer care in Ontario," says Lynn Wilson, Chief Development Officer, POGO.

The CF 1K Kids Run/Walk and the CF 5K Run/Walk will start and finish at CF Shops at Don Mills' Town Square. Following the run, participants are invited to enjoy the CF Flower Market, a specialty pop-up shop available at the centre until May 13.

The CF 1K Kids Run/Walk takes place on a traffic-free course and is open to youth 13 years and younger. The CF Adult 5K Run/Walk is open to those 14 years and over. For more information on the CF Run/Walk, visit www.cadillacfairviewrun.com or CF Shops at Don Mills' Facebook page.
