Veteran Family Program Coordinators are ready to support medically-releasing CAF members and Veterans and their families at all 32 locations across Canada
OTTAWA, April 13, 2018 /CNW/ - Families are an integral part of Veterans' well-being and this is why we are enhancing and expanding programs and services that focus on not only the Veterans, but their families too. Supporting families is supporting Veterans. The Veteran Family Program will offer that support when a Veteran transitions to post-military life.
When Canadian Armed Forces members are medically-released from the military, they must adjust to a new way of life and so must their families. The Veteran Family Program was piloted in seven communities. The success of these pilots is why we have expanded the Veteran Family Program from seven to 32 Military Family Resource Centres across Canada. We are proud to provide a program that is available in the communities where Veterans live and is making a difference in the lives of the families that access it.
The Veteran Family Program is a suite of transition support services designed to help medically releasing CAF members and Veterans transition from military to post-service life by guiding them and their families to information and resources in their communities.
