Recovery Centers of America Commends Senator Elizabeth Warren's Call for New Federal Legislation to Combat the Opioid Crisis

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., April 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Recovery Centers of America (RCA), an addiction treatment provider focused on saving one million lives, applauds Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren's effort to combat the opioid crisis with the introduction of federal legislation that would allocate $100 billion dollars over the next 10 years to fight the opioid epidemic.

Sen. Warren and Rep. Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland are expected to introduce legislation this week that will allocate federal funds to communities across the country with the highest drug overdose rates.

The bill is modeled after the Ryan White CARE Act, a federal bill passed in the 1980s to battle the AIDS epidemic. The proposed legislation would also require pharmaceutical executives to certify that their companies are not breaking the law in the way that they label and market opioid drugs.
