Media Advisory - Minister Joly to Lead Canada's First Creative Industries Trade Mission to China


The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, will be in China this week to lead Canada's first creative industries trade mission to China

OTTAWA, April 9, 2018 /CNW/ - The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, will be in China this week to lead Canada's first creative industries trade mission in Shanghai and Beijing. She is traveling with a delegation of close to 60 Canadian companies and organizations from across the country representing several sectors of creative industries.

The objective of the trade mission is to facilitate new market entry, leverage existing networks and renew partnerships. Additionally, it will serve as a platform for participating organizations to explore new business opportunities, advance ongoing projects, confirm collaboration between cultural institutions, artists and people, and advocate for and promote Canadian creative industries.

During her trip, Minister Joly will not only meet with her Chinese counterparts in culture and heritage, but also with numerous Chinese creative industry representatives to identify and build on areas of collaboration between these two trade partners.

?Over the course of the week, the Minister's program will be intertwined with that of the business delegation, which includes business matchmaking meetings and industry networking events.
