Subaru Canada Posts Best-Ever March Sales on Record

MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 3, 2018 /CNW/ - Stubborn winter weather is doing nothing to put a chill in Subaru Canada, Inc.'s hot streak, with the brand recording its best-ever March sales to close the first quarter of 2018.

Coming off its sixth consecutive annual sales record in 2017, with 54,570 units sold for the year, the strong momentum continued for Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) in March with 4,830 units sold, a 3.8 per cent increase compared to the same month last year.

The best March on record comes on the heels of SCI's best ever January and February sales, rounding out a strong first quarter for SCI with 11,305 units retailed ? an impressive 8.5 per cent increase compared to the same quarter in 2017, and the best first quarter on record.

"Subaru's incredibly strong sales momentum can be credited to our strong dealer network and continually evolving product lineup," said Yasushi Enami, chairman, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. "As an appealing alternative to mainstream brands, Subaru offers an unbeatable combination of world-class safety, performance, reliability and versatility to enable adventure and active lifestyles ? and more Canadians are recognizing that."

The all-new 2018 Crosstrek led the sales charge for SCI once again, posting its best ever sales in March with 1,362 units retailed for an impressive 102.1 per cent increase compared to the same month last year. Hot on the compact crossover's heels were the always-popular Outback and Forester models, with 1,074 and 1,043 units sold, respectively.

Sales across the country proved strong in March, with all regions posting gains compared to the same month last year. The Western region led the way, posting a 10.7 per cent increase compared to March 2017, while Quebec, Atlantic and Ontario regions were up 2.3 per cent, 1.5 per cent and 1.1 per cent for the month.
