To further his professional development, Allen is an affiliate of several organizations including the Park Slope Betterment Committee, a community project committee dedicated to saving Pak Slope buildings slated for destruction by the City of New York pursuant to the unsafe building program. Additionally, Allen has instructed a CLE course from Lorman Education on the legal aspects of real estate and has lectured for the New York City Bar Association.

Charitable to various organizations, Allen has represented non-profit organizations including the Rainforest Alliance and the National Council of Jewish Women. Having served as a volunteer arbitrator for the Civil Court of New York, Allen serves on the real estate sections of both the New York State and New York City Bar Associations.
